I am looking for a way to add a logo to the logopane and I dont see a way to do this. Is there a way to add an image file to one of the logo panes or do I need to first add a page in order to do this?

If this is a new install, you have one default page (home) to work with already.  In order to add an image to a pane, you could do it via a module or by hardwiring (coding) it into your skin.  You could use <asp: image> tag or <img src="<%= SkinPath %>whatever.jpg" height="165" width="770" border="0">.  Hope this helps.

Why not let DNN do it?  Go to Admin --> Site Settngs, scroll down and find the site logo selector...
