I have a DNN v4 site running on my home server running on port 80 and port 8181 for SSL. When I setup the DNN site I did everything while at home and logged onto the machine locally. The internal hostname of the web server is "VULCAN" so I installed DNN using the following url:

http://vulcan:8181

The install went fine without any issues. The problem occurs when I try and access the DNN site from outside the internal network such as at work. I have a registered domain, let’s call it "dnn.mynukesite.com", that points to the external facing IP of my home server. I have no problem accessing my DNN site from outside the network as I setup an alias for the external hostname "https://dnn.mynukesite.com:8181". The problem occurs when I try and login from outside the internal network. I find that my web browser is redirected from "https://dnn.mynukesite.com:8181" to "https://vulcan" the internal hostname for the server. I am not sure why this is happening. The two changes I am seeing are:

1. The hostname "dnn.mynukesite.com" is changed to "vulcan".
2. The port has changed to the non-ssl port of 80.

Does anyone have an idea as to what the issue might be? Thanks for any help.

- Derek
