I just found out from GoDaddy's advanced support team that they will backup my DB as often as I want free of charge. It takes a bit more time, but aleast it works. I'll post again if all goes well. I requested a backup a few minutes ago.

I recently installed DNN on GoDaddy and if you let them install it and set it up, they put it in a virtual directory you cannot access.   So, you cannot even see your web.config file.  I did find where a post in the forum about installing DNN yourself on GoDaddy and I am guessing this will solve that problem, since you will have access to the installed files.  Search for GoDaddy in this forum.  Based on what I read, this would mean that you would have to do your own backups.

I too am having the problem with the virtual directory.  I'm not sure how GoDaddy thinks blocking the virtual directory is okay.  It's our data!

Anyway I've got an ASP.net 2.0 site that I was hoping to use in conjunction with the the forum portion.   Because I can't see the webconfig in the virtual directory it bombs the forum when I bring the other portion online.   If this doesn't work I'm going to have to try another hosting service.  I'm pretty sure that DNN doesn't use the one SQL database that my account is entitle too.  Can anyone verify if the data exists in the virtual directory or is it setting up a MySQL database that I'm not aware of.

If I move to another service I'm a little worried that I won't get my forum data back.  If I can't see the database.  I can't export it.

Thanks!
