I'm new to using VS to develop ASP.NET applications.  I downloaded version 4.3.5 and have tried opening the .sln file in my VS 2005.  Upon simply clicking the build solution to see if it was installed correctly, I get about 1300 errors.  The first is "Type 'DataProvider' is not defined in file SQLDataProvider.vb.  I believe I have not fully configured studio for this and was wondering what I am missing.  Any help would be appreciated, I know this probably a simple question, but I am new to using VS.  Thanks.

Look in the project references. A yellow yeild sign means it can't find the reference. Delete it and add the reference manually.  It could also mean that it is building the .bin file in the wrong folder, and the project simply can't find it. If you search the forums or google you will find ways to set it up. Many problems are related to VS2005 projects handling not DotNetNuke itself.
