Hi.

I need to import aprox 300 users from the Active Directory into DNN.
How to do that in the first place?
I still need to use Windows Authorisation and syncronization when the users log in.
I can't ask all the users to log in before i publish the site, but I still need their data.

What to to, I'm quite desperate right now.

You should not need to import your users. If the site is properly configured, it should auto-create them, assigning them any public or auto-assign roles. In addition, it should compare their active directory roles and assign any matching DNN roles. I currently have a 3.3.5 site configured and working this way. I also implimented the AD fixes, which syncronizes the AD roles each time the person logs in (something missing from the original DNN package). It is available from the following DNN post: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/73435/scope/posts/Default.aspx.

If you need more info on my setup, let me know and I can post it. Took me a lot of trial and error to get this working.

I am currently running DNN 3.3.5 with .NET Framework 1.1.4322.2300, and I have applied the AD fixes mentioned above.  The problem I am having:
Users can login using their Active Directory credentials in the default DNN login (domain\username and windowspw).  I have manually added EXACT roles in DNN (both domain\role and just the role).  HOWEVER, when a new user logs in, their AD info is synced with DNN (including name, address, phone #) BUT the AD roles are not added to the new user account.  For some reason, I was able to get an administrator account to fully sync (including the role) but this only happened with one acocunt, no other accounts have fully synced with proper roles (only the auto and public roles are added when a new user logs in).  PLEASE HELP!!!!  Thank you

After hours of tinkering around, I finally was able to find somewhat of a solution...

In order to fully sync the AD users INCLUDING ROLES, under "Security Roles" I had to add new DNN roles for both "domain\Role" and "Role" in order to sync properly with each Active Directory Role.  By making BOTH of these new roles in the "Security Roles" section everything seems to sync up.  However, one account, Domain Users, would not sync using this method.  Anyone have any ideas??  I hope all this makes sense, I am new to DNN and am happy just to get the majority of rolls synced (or at least the important ones).  For my use, I will workaround this problem by auto enrolling everyone as registered user and assigning special priviledges to other roles that synced correctly.
