Need to switch hosts for my DDN site. The peformance is bad and the host isnt sure what to do to fix it so they suggest I find a new host. I wasnt satisfied with their customer service and technical support either so Im shopping around. The main feature used on the site is the forum so any recommendation from someone using the forums would be best. Need to have solid technical support and performance times. The current host is Infosaic so they are out of the running of course. I would also highly recommend people not use their service. Im running 4.x so they must support that as well.

I jsut went through this same "host search" I was using www.brinkster.com and would recommend them as a general host for single/smaller sites. They have a 24/7 phone support which was very nice, although not super helpful all the time if something went wrong with the site they were able to get it working.

I found it very hard to find a host based on reccomendations on the web. When looking through forums all you ever see is scary complaints and warnings from users screaming at you to never use a specific site.

After a lot of searching I landed at www.3essentials.com they offer DNN 3.x as part of their offering, but I have acutally installed 4.x on my domains. They do not have phone support, but they have been adequately responsive to all my support requests logged through their online ticket submission tools.

I would say check them out.

So I switched to re-invent.com. Site is easily twice as fast (much faster in some cases). Very pleased the first 2 days. No phone support which kinda stinks but they reply to their tickets extremely quickly via email.
