I have a developer re-creating a website for me in DNN. I told him about the WIKI he said he would see about it, but I said I'd begin the search, and to be honest, I can hardly figure out what this is all about.

This website's format is so disjointed and hard to follow that a neebee has a hard time following it.

I think you need to have one page set up, a home page, for each subject, like WIKI that has all of the resourses available to it.

Ex: this forums section would be there, but the download page, and instruction manual and DEMO's of what the site looks like along with EXAMPLES.

Why can't we have a WIKI demo site set up for the users to PLAY WITH? I want to try it before I buy it.

I've read the forums and have seen the number of VIEWS so I KNOW there is interest in this Module, but I see so little support or direction.

Perhaps because I'm a newbee, I've overlooked the real module information or the sites that are using it. But I really need to know where its at so my developer wont' bitch and complain about not being able to get it to work or its not what I wanted on my site.

So please help.

There isn't a demo Wiki setup yet because the Wiki module is still in a development stage. There's a release out there, but it is not primed for production in most cases yet. Once we have a release we consider non-beta we will have a demo site setup, and will be using the Wiki module here on DNN.com for various tasks.

I kept reading about this WIKI module and how people are having problems with installing it. It sounded like it was operational.

Am I unable to give it a go? Or would you advise against that?

When do you expect that the final version will be ready? I know this is a volunteer organization of sorts, but the discussion on it has been LONG. So when should a version be ready? Whats your best guess?

And finally, I feel like I am finally out on my first date with this beautiful cheerleader who has been flirting with me for months. I've got her in the backseat on a moonlite night with soft music playing when out of nowhere she tells me that she only wants to be friends. OUCH!

Please Put a LARGE DISCLAIMER AT THE FRONT OF THIS FORUM explaining that WIKI is in test mode production so as to prevent this rather painful scenario from playing out with other DNN dudes. You got me so excited. I was sooo looking forward to putting this WIKI on my website of 500 shyster lawyers. It was gonna be awesome.

Thanks for your work Chris

Chris,

My webguy went ahead and put the WIKI online. I didn't tell him about my learning that it was not fully operational.

So I've been looking at it, and I found NO MANUAL or user's guide to see how I should set it up. I see the wiki module and its installed but how do I get it up and usable for my membership? Is their an online guide for this mondule in DNN4?

Thanks again

In case you haven't already discovered this for yourself- KTOMICS wwwiki is now open source- and more mature than the core wiki.
