I've been spinning my wheels on this. Read documentation etc and tried lots of different scenarios...still no go.

I've got www.abc.com register. I installed DNN 3.2 (their installer) at www.abc.com/web .This works fine. I created a child portal at www.abc.com/web/sting - still okay here....works fine.

I've got another domain registered at godaddy - say it is www.xyz.com. I use their forwarder to format www.xyz.com to www.abc.com/web/sting and turn on 'mask'. I then make an alias for my sting dnn web that is 'www.xyz.com'. Well I've tried this and dozens of other combos and still can't get www.xyz.com to work - sometimes I get the portal but when I log in, my credentials appear accepted but then I just get the home page again, but am not logged in.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I realized I had a couple of typos above, here's the question again:

I've been spinning my wheels on this...I've read documentation etc and tried lots of different scenarios...still no go.

Say I've got www.abc.com hosted somewhere. I have successfully installed DNN 3.2 (their installer through Plesk) at www.abc.com/web . This works fine. I then created a child portal at www.abc.com/web/sting - still okay here....works fine when accessed through that address.

Now here's the problem. I've got another domain registered at godaddy - say it is www.xyz.com. I use their forwarder to point www.xyz.com to www.abc.com/web/sting and turn on the 'mask' URL option. I then make an alias for my sting dnn web for 'www.xyz.com'. Well I've tried this and dozens of other combos and still can't get www.xyz.com to work - sometimes I get the portal when using that URL but when I log in, my credentials appear to be accepted but then I just get the home page again, but am not logged in. I've tried with and without backslashes etc...and still can't get it to work properly.

Please help!

I would say the problem is in using the masking option.  Try using the forwarder to point to the main site that DNN is installed at (www.abc.com/web), and keep your alias in DNN for the second portal at www.xyz.com.

When the www.xyz.com domain is accessed, DNN will do the work of presenting the proper portal.
