Hello,

Could anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong using [CURRENTDATE] token, is there any other date tokens (couldn't find it in the documentation)? Every time I install the skin I have to get the ascx files and remove the formatting (I can't understand where is it getting this way-wrong formating from anyhow) to display it in a normal format. I'm using DNN 4.0.3 and 4.3.5

This is what it's doing when the skin is installed (on any skin, on any of my portals):

  • Processing token: [CURRENTDATE]
  • Token is skin object: Admin/Skins/CurrentDate.ascx
  • Token found in attributes file: [CURRENTDATE]
  • Formatting token attribute: CssClass="OtherTabs"
  • Formatting token attribute: DateFormat="MMMM, dd, yyyy"
  • Formatting control statement: <dnn:CURRENTDATE runat="server" id="dnnCURRENTDATE" CssClass="OtherTabs" DateFormat="MMMM, dd, yyyy" />
  • Thank you,

    Waldis

As you are using an HTML skin, attributes for each skin object used are specified in the skin.xml (or specific skinname.xml) file.  You would set the DateFormat attribute for the CurrentDate object to the desired format string.  When the HTML skin is installed, the .ascx skin that is automatically built will then take this attribute value into account.

You will find more information in the DotNetNuke Skinning.doc white paper.
