I read about a search functionality on the first posts of the thread, but then it disappeared. I wonder if such code is available. I am starting to work on a Filtering capability for the UDT and looking at the search should be of great help.

Thanks!

UDT currently supports portal search (using the iSearchable interface) only.

Thanks Stefan. I am going to devote some time to the filtering functionality.

I am new to DNN development so I will need some time to get a handle of DNN basics.  My first development on DNN was a new datatype that allows the user to select values from another UDT table. This did not require the addition of new controls to the module.

For the filtering functionality I am planning on adding a new control that presents filtering options according to datatype for each of the fields on the table.

I am still stuck on adding a new control. I made a copy of the UDT control, renamed it MyUDT, and added an action to call it from the menu. It is working with the following glitches:
1) I was expecting the menu entry to appear at the bottom of the module/control like the Add New Row does, but it only appears on the menu. Is there a way to add a new entry side-by-side with Add New Row
2) I gave the control the key MyUDT. Updated the RESX file to have a ControlTitle_myudt.Text entry, but my control gets RESX:ControlTitle_myudt.Text as title.

An help will be appreciated. I will be happy to share my code with you if and once I make it work.

Thanks in advance for your help.

i modified the module to accept an optional parameter for field length for an automatic search field. i builds a form. user types in values and it filters the table. for this to work i had to encrypt/decrypt the query string for it to work correctly with pager control. the only problem now is when i click on a command button (dnn_postback). it mangles the last parameter. it truncates it.  i tried overcoming it with clientapi.setclientparameter and response.cookies and neither worked. both are blanked on the dnn_postback. i am using 3.3.3 it builds my forms for a simple report and exports to excel. but as soon as i click something that calls dnn_postback. my last querystring parameter CurrentFilter is mangled. any insite would be appreciated.
