I have an intranet portal set-up where my client is asking how to automatically login people based on their Windows/Active Directory login. How is this done? I see some Active Directory modules out there -- do I need one?

Any insight would be helpful -- Thanks!

Been working on this issue for the last 8 hours. Doesn't appear the Active Directory module is active. I found no downloads. Found nothing in Documentation for setting up windows authentication.

Anybody, Anbyody know?????

Have you gotten anywhere on this? I'm in the process of writing this myself -- along the way I'll probably need to revamp how users are logged in anyway -- for one, last login date is not updated in the database when users login via cookie, so right away that needs fixed.

Guys - Don't give up, you are so close!

Check out the Active Directory forum group, particularly this post: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/73435/scope/posts/Default.aspx

The above post covers some mod's to the default AD setup which helps offer more features.

To start working with Windows authentication you will need to make changes to the web.config (Authentication mode=Windows and uncomment the ADSI provider) - details in the AD forum.

If you want last login dates to work correctly you need to enable the users online feature (this is a check box in either site/host settings)

Matt
