I'm trying to change the background image on my site.  When I select the new background from the Body Background - File Name combobox, then click on the 'Update' link, my web browser (IE6) comes up with the following error message:

Line: 129
Char: 5
Error: 'event' is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: http://[my domain here]/DNNAdmin/SiteSettings/tabid/39/Default.aspx

I've also tried using Mozilla Firefox (which isn't showing me as much information about the error), andalso doesn't allow me to update the settings (it just stops when it gets to the error).

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems, or do you have any suggestions on what I need to do to fix this?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Note: I'm running DNN 4.3.5

Paul,

I had something similar happen when I lost my admin user and tried to do an update. I was getting the null from the update_click looking for the selecteditem.value on the dropdown that had nothing in it. Check and see if you have any dropdown boxes that are empty and should have values.

Thanks for the suggestion Ryan,

On your advice, I've taken a look at some of the pages this problem appears to be affecting and I can't see any dropdown boxes that look like they're empty.  I'm also getting this problem on any page that I try to update using the Settings page (i.e. changing which users have access to the page).

To add some further curiosity to the problem, the tech support people at my hosting company are able to use the update buttons without any difficuty, but when I try (or my friends using different computers and different ISPs, etc) we all experience the same problem.

In the Javascript Console on Firefox, I'm getting the following error message which might shed some more light on the problem:

event is not defined
http://[my domain here]/aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/WebUIValidation.js     Line 128

Thanks,

Paul.

What versions are you using? DNN, ASP.NET, SQL Server? Where are you hosted? Has this ever worked and then it stopped working?

Thanks,
