Developing Modules Part 5

Duration: 10 minutes
Author: Simon Goodchild - www.dnnwiki.net

There are many developers who use Visual Studio, not the Express version. This tutorial shows the difference when using compiled DLL files in your module, rather than inline codes.

  1. Adding the Web Deployment Project to Visual Studio (to manage your created DLL files)
  2. Changing the DNN file to include the DLL file instead
  3. Creating the ZIP file for deployment
  4. Uploading and deploying the Module

This tutorial builds upon the "Who Are You" module from the previous tutorial, which you can download here.

View video online (an embedded streaming .wmv file) - right-mouse click the video while it is playing to view it full screen.

NB. If you can't see the streaming video, then download the video and play it locally by visiting www.dnnwiki.net

Please feedback on this tutorial, we love to hear you comments!

I saw this, this morning and thought it was great, it's good to see how to create .dll versions of modules especially if you are trying to sell modules commercially!

Thanks Simon, Great Tutorial!
