Hi

I am currently running DNN 4.3.5 and AD integration is working for some users.  They are able to log in and view the portal.  The appropriate account is created in DNN, and populated with AD information.

Some users cannot access the portal and when they point the browser at it nothing happens (not even an error message from the web server).

After using SQL Profiler (SQL Server 2000) I was able to see repeated calls to the following:

exec dbo.GetUserByUsername @PortalId = 0, @Username = N'DOMAIN\username'

NOTE: "DOMAIN\username" has been replaced for the purposes of this post.

I have seen one other post on this, but was unable to find a suitable solution to this in the threads.  Has anyone got any idea how to solve this, or how to further diagnose the fault?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in Advance.

Do you have the DNN site setup as a trusted or Intranet site in IE?

Thanks for your reply.

On my browser DNN is not a trusted site but it works.  My end user's machine is the same.  When I added DNN as a trusted site to IE on their machine it made no difference.  I have tried this on another user's computer with the same effect.  It is almost as if there is a problem with adding new users to DNN.

I have exactly the same problem as you and as many others. It's hard to find a solution as far as i can see. I have read most of the post i think and still i can't get it to work.

I am having problems with the creation of the AD users on dotnetnuke and the loop which takes place on all machines that are not mine. On my machine i am logged on the domain and i have created myself as a SuperUser on the portal. It looks like it only works for users which already are created.

I have tried to uncomment the Authentication module. Tried to Use form authentication and windows authentication. Played around with IIS and windows authentication on the site or on the WindowsSignIn.aspx file. I have also tried to uncomment the impersonate user. Ohh and not to forget that i tried to add the site to the Trusted sites. None of these has worked yet. Don't know what else to try. Seems like gambling. Maybe or maybe not it'll work somehow. It's strange that nowbody has wrote a official documentation how this suppose to work at least i couldn't find it.

Hi Mihai

I have basically covered EXACTLY the same ground that you have and read all the posts to no available.  This is now holding up the deployment of a production Intranet system, and is extremely frustrating.  The only other information that I can give to people at this moment is that my network is a Windows 2003 domain.  Could this be a factor?

With such problems, and no apparent resolution, I am being forced to question if this is a viable solution for hosting an Intranet (which is a real shame).  Can anyone provide any kind of help on this subject?

Thanks

Glen
