Hi,

I've been trying to find a good host in the UK for DNN but can't find one.

Does anyone know who is generally the best host in the states that I could use.

It needs to be fast and I need quick support (I'm in the UK btw)

Many thanks

There are a few good webhosts in the US and others I would not recommend. I would not recommend GoDaddy.com or 1and1.com as the installation is a bit tricky and time consuming. Also access to the database is not made easy. Recently I was using WebHost4Life.com which has many good features, good speed and excellent support. I switched because I wanted more than the 2gbs of space offered so I am now using IXWebHosting.com. They give me unlimited storage and 100 MSSQL databases for about the same price. The only drawback is that they do not have framework 2 or MSSQL 2005 installed at this time so you must use framework 1.1, MSSQL 2000 and DotNetNuke 3. I have found that not to be a problem as they have great support and good speed at an unbelievable low price.

I've used several ISPs for DNN, some are good some are not.

SeekDotNet can be slow, and their support can be good or very lousy.

JodoHost is good, always upgrading their systems, but a bit slow.

ResellersChoice is quite fast, and they really undersatnd DNN. Also very good support. I'm doing this as a Reseller, and they couldn't do a couple things I wanted, so I moved on.

VorTech is fast, good support, but no ASP.Net 2.0, so I moved on.

3Essentials is quite fast, they help out with DNN, decent support at most times and very good pricing. I keep looking elsewhere, but these guys do it for me. They have ASP.Net 2.0 but no SQL Server 2005. Has not been a problem for me. I've been using them for most of a year - even while trying others.

Check out www.hostdepartment.com as a host.  They have been pretty responsive when I have had problems.  Can't complain about the prices either.
