Aspnet_profile table holds information about dnn users. I like DNN very much, but this is the worst database design I have seen. Use of any database feature on propertyValue… fields is almost impossible. Is there any plans to change this?

blame Microsoft , it's their design not ours :) The aspnet_* tables are all part of the membership provider capability of asp.net 2.0. We recently overhauled the user profile area (3.3.0/4.3.0 as far as I remember) as we weren't happy with some of it's limitations. Charles blog http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/BlogsDotNetNuke/tabid/825/BlogID/15/Default.aspx is a good area to read up on this.

Oooops... didn't know this.

I did small research on topic…  IMHO MS did a mistake - after years of investments in SQL Server database they suggest use of flat (serialized) data? I believe MS also recognized this, because member of their team already developed table profile provider for aspnet profiles. I suggest that dnn team also use this approach, if this is possible.

Thank you for link.
