OK, another reason why this is frustrating... Having debated the above I decided I would try to reply back to a couple of threads where I thought I could help.

Along comes this post so I post my reply and duly receive the "You have posted to a moderated forum", fair enough I say.  Then 1 hour later when my post is still waiting approval someone else who is unmoderated comes along and answers the same question with the same reply.

So, I've wasted my time and the moderator will waste their time approving the wast of my time

We might want to look into letting unanswered posts simply get deleted after a reasonable amount of time... if a post isn't an anouncement and goes unanswered for say 30 days, why not let it fall out of search returns?

P.S. - THANKS core team!

A question I have is why are posts going 30 days with no reply.  I am sure that there are questions that are poorly written or thought out.

Some may be comments and do not need reply.  But.... In the past I have taken great pains to post a clear explanation of an important issue and had few or no replies.

I have had to go back and bump the thread which has sometimes worked.  Perhaps a trigger could be sent to let the person know that their thread is going to be deleted with the scheduled date 2 days in advance.  Then the user could bump, or edit or do nothing and let it drop.

Seems possible.

Re Moderation - now I'm confused.

I have not had any new post, nor any answer I have made to any existing threads, moderated for months.
It used to happen and then it just stopped ?

no, moderation still continues. Ian, your posts are no longer moderated as either your post count/post quality meant that your user account was updated to 'trusted' status.
