One of the issues that I have is that core DNN Framework features are not always implemented in various modules or projects made available from this site.
Issues such as iPortable and iSearchable and in particular localization become major problems for deployments. Even when modules do implement these features it is not alway consistent throughout the module.
Date formats become a real problem when the implemented portal has an international membership if the localisation is not implemented correctly, or even tested using various locales.
It would be good (I think) if the core team provided some form on compliancy check list that identified if a particular module implements these feature or not, of in some cases partly implemented.
The other issue along the lines of localization is the fact that Daylight saving time is not considered in DotNetNuke, this impacts very important features of the events calendar etc, which we can only use currently for local events.
While the DotNetNuke core team appear to have structured a quality review process for module development, I think that the standards and criteria should be made public (if it is not) so that we can be informed early of the strengths or weaknesses of individual modules.
I would welcome discussion on this topic.
Cheers
