This isn't an upgrade, btw.  I can't seem, for the life of me, to get this thing to install.  I followed the instructions for the newer version (4.3.5), but I kept getting

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

And now I am trying to install 4.0.3 and I followed the instructions for creating the build for the first time and I have 54 errors like the following:

Statement cannot appear within an Enum body. End of Enum assumed.

Declaration expected.  (lots of these)

'GetTabs' is not a member of 'DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs.TabController'. (lots of these)

And a bunch more.  What's going on?

Okay, I fixed the errors.  Basically, there were reserved words like "group" being used as variable names, enum values, etc.  Is this just a problem with a newer version of .NET 2.0 I have installed or is there a setting to turn this off?

For the "Could not connect to database specified..." error, update the connection information in Web.config.  The connection string that came with the package has null strings for the userID and the Password.  You need to update the connection strings in 2 places: '<add name="SiteSqlServer"...', and 'add key="SiteSqlServer" ...'

Basically, it has to do with reserved words.  "Group" is a reserved word, so apparently I can't use it.  I just don't know how the developers got past that.  There must be a setting somewhere.
