Good morning...I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why the code that is given by Stacounter will not stay the same as when I add it in? I go into the text/html module, click on the html <> and then dump the code in there, click on update.

When I go back to view the source code, I see that it is not the same code that has been entered. It looks like it is completely stripping the js code out of it?

Any help, suggestions comments are going to be a HUGE help,

Thanks,

Jason

Hope you don't go bald over it!! You cannot run Javascript in your site unless it's embedded into the skin or using a module that handles js - as it influences the way dnn works.

Try opening a skin file or putting in the default aspx file - I've seen some JS work but in general it doesn't work using the html module.

Hi Jason,

When I need to put javascript on every page, I make a vendor, then I add a banner of type Text/Script, and just put my javascript in the banner Text box.  Then I add a banner module to my home page, and tell it to NOT display the container, and to appear on every page.

Hope this helps!

Mike

Here's a trick to make it work and not go away.  Instead of inserting your JS into the text edit box, go to the module settings > Advanced Setting and paste your code into the field for "Header" or "Footer".

This is a simple text field that will not strip out your Javascript.
