Help. What do i do?? This is a protype i am doing (localhost) for a site i will be putting on the net soon

Wish to bump this.  Getting the same error message, except only when there is no logged-in user.  Any logged in user works fine.

Well, can't help you, but I do have the same problem and would like to get a pointer to the solution...

Please make sure the menu script and the dll are the most recent available.  Use the files from your DotNetNuke installation version (but a new copy)
