It looks like you haven't created a virtual directory in IIS to run DNN.  You need to go into Internet Information Services (under Administrative Controls in your Control Panel), find this directory, and create a virtual directory which points to it.

Found that I had followed the instructions for 3.x and pointed the virtual directory to the../DotNetNuke directory rather than the ..DotNetNuke/website directory.  Created a new virtual directory, pointed it to /DotNetNuke/website and have gotten passed my first error.  Now i am having trouble getting a connection to the database:

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 04.03.05

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

Here is what I have in web.config for that;

<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005-->

<add

name="SiteSqlServer"

connectionString="Server=(WWW);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=Nuke;pwd=******;"

providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

</connectionStrings>

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ken

First, can you connect to your database with that same information inside of query analyzer or some other way?

If you can't, you may need to add the "Nuke" user to your "DotNetNuke" database with the right permissions.

If you can, have you commented out the connectionStrings for SqlExpress?  And, have you uncommented and updated the connectionString in the appSettings portion of your web.config?
