Hi Folks,

DNN V4.3.5

I am having problems with opening pdf or document type files when the link has been created by selecting 'A file on the site'

When creating such a link the url actually starts with /LinkClick.aspx, no problem with that. But when a visitor to the site actually tries to click on the link they always get a dialog box open asking them if they wish to open the file.

This never happened before and is a bit of a pain.

Other than manually entering the url to the required file is there anything that can be done about this.

Many thanks and keep up the great work.

Tony

I'm having the same problem after a 3.0 to 3.3 upgrade.  Did you ever get a response?

This is caused by the new way that DNN manages files. I will investigate this issue.

A few questions:

1) Did you tried this by using another module (i.e. links module)?

2) The file permissions are set to read for the user trying to download the file?
