Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with the Repository serving .PDF files...

I can upload the file successfully, but when a user attempts to download, and then open the file, a message comes to screen saying that the file is corrupted and cannot be repaired.

If I attempt to access the file via Windows Explorer from the Repository directory using a file share, the document opens, so I know it is not corrupted on the server.

I have checked my Host settings, and the PDF file type is permitted.  I have a sneaking suspicion it might be a problem with MIME types, but am not sure how to fix it.

If anyone else has encountered similar problems, please let me know.

I am running DNN 4.3.5 on Windows 2003, and Repository version 3.01.10

the Repository module uses the Dnn Core functions to download files and it appears that it's a known issue

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply.  I've read the thread you mentioned, and believe I have a different error...

Firstly, it is not just opening the file in IE that is causing me a problem.  Even if the user SAVES the file before they open it, the error occurs.

Also, the error is NOT limited to IE.... I have also verified the fault in Firefox.

This is why I think it is a problem with the MIME handling... If I get the file directly from the Repository directory in the file system, all is good, however downloading the file through DNN fails every time...
