Ok, $5 to the first person that responds with a solution that fixes this problem... Payable via paypal.

After I create a new portal when I go to that portal still logged in as the host I can't add content into the page panes.  That little drop down box at the top of the page (that shows all modules available) contain no module in the child portals.  Its almost as if all of my modules have been set to "premium modules" and not allowed to be used on the child portals.

Weird thing is that if you go to "Host -> Module Definitions" in that child portal all of the Modules show up fine. ---I just can't add them to the individual pages.  Literally NO modules are available for use from that little top drop down box.

Thanks again for your help

I have never seen this happen, but have you tried creating a child portal using a different template?

John,
Thanks for the reply,  I have tried to create child portals with a couple of different templates, and also tried creating then using the automatically assigned dir (Portals/2/ for example) and also by putting a custom field in there (Portals/ChildName/ etc...) and it does the same thing for all of them...

I would imagine that for some reason some files got messed up, and I have noticed that when things get slightly messed up before when a new version of DNN comes out and I upgrade it seems to "put everything back to normal" so to speak...  Is there a way that I can reupload the core files and or/ do somethign to the database that will return it to the original "normal" state without loosing all of the data that I have put in...

I have no idea what to do here.  John I can make a admin / superuser account for you if necessary so that you can check it our if you think that would help...  If so let me know and I will email it to you or private message it to you.

Thanks for all your support and help,
Jason

Keep your $5 - it won't change my life.

Have you cheked that your skin has a ControlPanel tag in it for the child portals.

Something like:

<TD id="ControlPanel" runat="server" class="contentpane" valign="top" align="center"></TD>

If you don't have the ControlPanel tag, I don't think that you will see the Admin area.

Yeah, that shouldn't be the problem because first off...It doesn't work with the default skin which is DNN_blue or something like that....And I have changed it to my custom skin (which woks fine on main portal)  and it still doesn't work...

A.) I CAN see the admin tool bar at the top when loged in as admin or host....
b.) Modules show up and I can add them to the Main Portal
c.) Check the image below...it shows that there are many modules to choose from when on the main portal but that no moduels show up on the child portal....

Its as if the cell that hold that value is somehow now looking at the database that contains the list of module values...???
