basically will the url make a difference to the search engine because it simply ends in 'default.aspx'

i have friendly urls on, so my site looks like

blah.com/id/1/something/2/default.aspx

i've been told by a few people that 'default' is an extension that is best avoided in google in order to get a better ranking.

any truth in this?

or is what i have okay? (i have a couple of links in the site (from a links module) that use the blah.com/default.aspx?tabid=xxx , but i don't want these pages indexing anyway as their content isn't really relevant (things like terms and conditions/payment information, etc OR is that a wrong assumption to make?

cheers to anyone who answers

Colin
