I just installed the forum on 3.3 and it works fine except for the FTB. For some reason when I post a new thread the skin background for the site now becomes the background for the FTB text area instead of the standard white... Any idea what would cause this?

I am having the same problem and have been looking for the solution or tags in a CSS file or something.  Could someone please at least give us some direction as to which way to go

Same problem here on DNN 4.3.5. I've examined the generated HTML and tried adding various styles to change the background, but no luck.

After looking at the HTML again, the FTB editor uses an IFrame for rich text and a TextArea for HTML. The TextArea can by styled with CSS, but the IFrame background cannot. I *think* the IFrame AllowTransparency attribute needs to be set differently to prevent the body background from showing through. Since I'm not a DNN developer, I can't do this myself. I think the only solution for me is to change the skin background...

"The attribute is available in IE 5.5 or later and controls whether the background plane of the iframe element is transparent or opaque. To allow the main document to show through the iframe, set the allowtransparency attribute to true and either leave the iframe's background-color style property at its default setting (transparent) or set it explicitly to transparent."

Switching to the FCKEditor solved the problem for me. I'm still having forum-related problems with the skin I've chosen, but that's a different story.
