Per the post above, we went the route of engaging the Enterprise Forms team and used Listx and we created a basic time sheet system.  I've always thought that turning the asp.net sample time and project app into a DNN module would be cool.  Another cool tool to roll your own app is Module Builder found at www.socani.org.

What type of functionality are you looking for in the time app?  If you would like I can show you what we built.

Well I'm keen not to go too overboard really and keep it simple.

I really need an employee time sheet if you like. Employees enter their hours in, categorise what they've been working on by hour/mins

We then get a report of how long they've spent on tasks in terms of time and percentage.

If there is no quick solution we're probably stick with Excel and I'll go about writing my own module at a later stage.

Cheers...

I have been using the timesheet module by Byte.com.au - and have finished a project where they also implemented it.  It was for a 3.3.7 website, but I believe Byte have upgraded it to DNN 4- but not sure if it's been released yet.

You have to setup the categories and projects, but it does allow employees to add their hours, assign to projects, and is very easy to use, once you get your head around how it works.

I used it without error and it was not an expensive module to purchase. I believe they were going to do some finetuning of it for the DNN 4 builds.

It might be worth considering.  I have a demo site setup for a client I can give you access to if you want to see how it works.
