Does anyone know what cause the "Done but with Errors on this page in list view....  (error expected ')'  ) is the error...

I found that if I copied and pasted text into the description field I would get this error...but I have this error after typing everything in...Had I been watching I would have been able to find the error when it occurred.  I looked in the db and can not find anything unusual in there to cause this error....does anyone have any insite into this?

Thanks,

Janet

I'm getting this also on a new DNN 4.3.5 site at http://www.bridgtonalliancechurch.org.  Because I had modifed the .ascx for the event list to make it more compact, I figured I had introduced the error but could never find it in the modified .ascx.  When I have more time, I need to place the event list on a page with no other modules and a minimal skin then take a close look at the html source that is generated matching '(' and ')' throughout. You might try the same on your site.

There error for me is caused by one or more of the event descriptions.  I actually found the offending event but looking at it could not figure out what the problem was.  I did not copy and paste text into the description field.  There were no odd characters used etc....

How I found it.....
In list view....scroll over each even and find the one that the yellow pop up does not work....  When you find an event that the pop up doesn't work just delete it and re-add it.  It is possible the title is too long? not sure what causes it.  I actuall had to change the title on this one even though I had other events with longer titles.  There was no logic to the one I found that was causing the error.

Using your suggesting of hovering over the event and checking to see if the yellow pop up displays, I found three event descriptions that were causing the Page Errors - not only in the event list view but in the full month calendar view as well.  A bit of further testing confirmed that any description containing an apostrophe or single quote was causing the problem.  Remove the apostrophe - error goes away. Add the apostrophe - error returns.  Apparently the description text is not getting properly html encoded and the apostrophe is being taken as an end of string delimiter.  I need to take a look at the html generated to see exactly what's happening.

Hm..that is good news for me to hear....I will avoid those symbols... Let me know what you come up with to solve the problem.

Thanks,

Janet
