EckTwo,

You add PortalId as a QueryString parameter which will not be used inside MakeThumbnail.aspx. Please explain why your fix should work? Which error do you want to fix? I am not able to reproduce.

Thank you

Hi Stefan,

In order to reproduce the problem (which is permission denied error when accessing the image file through MakeThumbnail.aspx), you need to have two conditions - be running in a child portal and have the max image width setting set.

The query string is not for the benefit of MakeThumbnail.aspx.  It is for use by DNN security framework.  Without it, DNN would assume that you have no permission and it would not only not display the thumbnail but will also log you out.  The query string is a standard method to tell the DNN security framework which portal the page belongs to so that DNN can check your login credentials against that portal.

If you take a look at the Repository module, it uses a similar method.  In it's earlier DNN 2 version, the Repository module had this same problem...
