I have the same problem and noticed it first after I deleted a portal.

Please advise as I want to bring up my portals again!

Best regards,
Henning

Just a quick note for all: I found the error! It was a database mismatch: The record with the portal user-id existed in the aspnet_Users and aspnet_Membership tables, but the applicationID field did not match. Correcting the field by means of the SQL Server Enterprise Manager (copied the applicatioID GUID from aspnet_Applications) solved the problem.

Best regards,
Henning
