Anybody else get this virus alert with the database in DotNetNuke? (I tried to search the forums to see if this had already been posted but the search keeps on timing out on me so I apologize if this has already been dealt with. If so, a link to the thread that deals with this would be appreciated.)

What virus detection tool did you use??? I made several searches on Aavirus and the information on it is sketchy. Symantec, McAfee, and Trendmicro don't know anything about it. I wonder if it is a false positive.

I'm using ClamWin: www.clamwin.com

wildfiction:

I don't think I would use that tool, even if it is free. A search on their own site returned NO HITS about trojan.aavirus!!! In their forum, there were three hits for aavirus, all of them making reference to false positives, specifically, where clamwin was finding viruses (or virus signatures) in the databases of other virus detection tools!?!? Big duh.

Remember that even if some people don't like it, the big virus detection companies I trust, Symantec, McAfee, and Trendmicro have a lot of resources dedicated to methodically look for, catalog, and counter viruses that are actively spreading. And now, you can count good old Microsoft in this arena with Windows Defender, which is also free.

You make some good points there. I did not check their forum. Thanks!
