Hi,

I'm getting a little worried about using this module because it's a module that takes a very high number of hours to populate yet seems to remain somewhat flakey even after the two years I've been following it.

I've had an instance of it die on me today for no apparent reason. The module then also failed to export content from a backup portal so now I'm repopulating it from scratch after deleting the module and reinserting it.

Is this module still under development and if so, is fixing content export and also sorting out that fixed-path problem on the to-do list?

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob

I'm not sure what you mean by somewhat flakey? It's been my experience with the module that it's been pretty rock solid in the years that I've been using it (since DNN 1). Could you explain more what you mean when you say you had an instance die on you today? The export failure is a reported bug but I'm not sure if Steve has fixed it yet. Yes the module is still under development but with only one programmer working on it instead of the original three when it became a DNN project and that programmer also having to put food on his families table updates have been pushed to the back burner. That said, the export bug and fixed-path problem are on the to-do list. Speaking of the fixed-path problem....that's something that I don't consider a problem, Steve asked what features people wanted and that was one of the things the majority told him they wanted. So it's a damned if he did and a damned if he didn't situation.

Well I'm back and about to lose another couple of days work because of this thing. This time DNN itself died an unresolvable death (covered in another thread) and of course all my repository content goes along with it.

Why not be smart and release a version without the import/export items on the menu. There's 20 minutes of work that would have saved people countless hours by now.

Sorry I didnt' reply earlier but the forum is also flakey at times.
