Since I was having server crashing (application pool unexpected termination) issues with ASP.NET 2 version of DNN (4.3.5) upgraded from 3.x and the database backup was corrupted I had to do a fresh install well going to view the Log Viewer resulted in this problem...

Need a little guidance here...

I was receiving the same error (out of no where)... tried lots of ways to work it out and finally just cleared out the log file table to fix it... seems to come from a bad log entry.  To fix mine I simply deleted all of the records in the EventLog table.

Hope that helps,

yogs

you might need to check your log table manually in the database and correct/remove corrupted entries. If you don't need the current content of the log table, purge it by login into DotNetNuke as "host", goto Host :: SQL and enter the following statement into the textbox:

DELETE FROM {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventLog

After you run this script, log view shall behave as before.
