I have a fresh DNN installation and added the Forum module, but I cannot figure out how to allow anyone except an Admin to post any messages. What configuration am I missing?

You are not missing anything at all if you already have "Edit Module" checked (pull down the down-arrow menu, select "Settings" which takes you to "Module Settings"). The thing with this DNN forum module is that you site visitors all need to register/login in order to post messages. Anonymous posting is not supported by this forum. Please read the thread entitled "Anonymous posting" for more details.

Hope this helps.

It was the "Edit Module" that I didn't have checked. I thought that that meant that the users could edit the "settings" of the module, and so originally never checked it. I didn't see anywhere in my perusing of the documentation that this needed to be setting needed to be checked.

What might be nice is a text/html module thrown in that only admin can see and explains how to use the forum (something all modules should probably have ;-)).

I have the same problem actually.  I dunno what exactly can I change from the Forums Module setting to be able to let people post and create new threads.  Forum Administration doesn't give a clue either.  Im using 3.20.08 version.
