Hi Everybody

I am using the users online module on a German site, i.e. I set the default locale to DE-de. I also installed the German language pack.
The Users Online module however still displays in English

Is this a bug or have I done something wrong

Best regards

Tom Jachmann

Tom,

have you applied the appropriate version of the language packs? At DeutschNetNuke, there is also available a separate download for Users Online module.

Hi Sebastian

Yes. At least the version numbers are corresponding. And I tried to download and install the special package for the Users Online module. Both don't work. I again verified that the default language is German

Is it possible that the module don't recognize the default locale and only the users locale, hence when no user is logged in, then the wrong locale is used?!

Best regards

Tom

Hi Tom,

DNN gets the locale for unauthenticated user from the browser settings, and only if these do not match any active language of the portal use the portal default language.

Hi Leupold

This explains a lot. And really, it works if I change the IE locale to German. However is this a VERY strange behaviour if I can't control it. I write my whole UI in German, set my Site language to German and get overruled in that module by any user setting I can't control?! This means a unccontrllable possibility of a strange mixture of English and German on my site. Removing English is not an option, since it is the default language of the framework and would (from my point of view create further problems...

Any suggestions?

Best regards

Tom
