I am trying to set up the Events module to allow all users with edit capability to be able to also add locations. Currently, the 'Add Location' menu item is only available to site administrators. There isn't any way through the GUI to set who can add locations, so I thought it would be a simple thing to track through the database and find what causes the menu item to not appear for users with edit capability. I can't find it though! I suspect that the ModuleControls table has the information I am looking for, but the only field that it could be is the ControlType field. The ControlType field is an Integer. I tried changing the value of the field for the row that has the 'Add Location' menu item, but didn't see any change in my gui. What tables do I need to touch to change the permissions for a menu item?

Thanks!
Anne

this is a current issue of the core, you can solve it by placing an appropriate action tag into the container you use, see default container for DNN blue, that comes with an explicit edit link.

Thanks, I will look at that! I'm confused, though, because having menu items that are available for certain roles seems like a very common thing that DNN does. I don't think I'm trying to do anything that isn't done all the time.
