Can someone suggest where I can change which portal field is used to set the Forum Module Alias on first entry into the forum?  Be default, Forum Alias is copied from portal User Name.  Should it not use the portal Display Name instead?

I have a portal where users login infrequently.  Users often forget the User Name used to Register.  For that reason I recommend that users set their User Names to their email addresses. (Password Retrieval ToolTip suggests this, too). But when users enter the Forum Module, the Forum Module grabs the portal User Name as Forum Alias, and then shows the user's email address as the Alias.  Showing the user's email address as Forum Alias is a privacy/security issue.

I realize I can manually change the Forum Alias, but I would rather not do all that work each time a new user enters to Forum.

It comes somewhere from ForumUserInfo.

Because I'm still pretty new at getting under the DotNetNuke hood, would you please confirm: I should be able to find the Forum Alias assignment somewhere in a Stored Procedure?  I don't see a ForumUserInfo sproc anywhere, so do you mean it's in one of the Forum_User* stored procs, but you are not sure which one? Is that correct?

well, there is a Forum_UserAdd I think and it could be changed there. I was saying to change it in the code though. I think it would be easier there as the alias is set at first in the code somewhere in the ForumUserInfo.vb (or named close, its in the Components\Users\ folder).
