Okay have had a lot of problems getting dnn installed lately so I hope its not me

 

Using the 4.3.6 starter kit and right out of the box (dont change anything) the site seems to install okay untill it gets to the point where it tries to create the default portal at this point one of two things happen

1. Thread gets abborted and thats the end of that - no portal and it says no object not set to instance of object ( I guess cause the Portal doesnt exist)

2. Install says portal failed to install and then click here to open your portal - then we are at 1 again no portal

 

I can attach the database.mdf and it has all the tables and stored procs but the portal table has no entries - If I add an entry by hand the portal then tries to upgrade but then goes to just a blank screen

 

Can anybody tell me what might be the trouble.
