I am testing the NAV menu and I got one problem when reading the papers and code.

To get the down arrow to work I had to write  IndicateChildImageRoot="menu_down.gif" but in code nav.ascx.vb

If IndicateChildImageRoot <> "" Then
strDownArrow = IndicateChildImageRoot
Else
strDownArrow = "[APPIMAGEPATH]menu_down.gif"

So maybee is the vb code wrong or the js wrong I dont know or in best case I am wrong.

I believe all you need to do is specify IndicateChildren="True"
