I got this working, but it doesn't make sense to me.  I went into the module settings and gave registered users edit permissons.  Once I did that, any registered user can now interact with the module.

Why do I have to turn on edit permissions?  Shouldn't view permissions allow a user to interact with it?

I would agree that this should work for everyone.  Since you say you're just starting I'll point you to these tutorials (just in case you haven't started there).

or
http://vladan.strigo.net/Default.aspx?tabid=78

good luck! (I've used both methods and prefer Vladan's 'blankmodule' method -- especially with the deployment projects ... and developing modules has been a breeze, relatively speaking).

Thanks Brian.  I actually built my module following the adefwebserver tutorial.  It works great and was very simple to create - except the admin thing.  I will take a look at the other link you attached.  I was planning on trying again with another module today.  I appreciate it.

I am wondering if it has something to do with using the starter kit templates.  I went through the guest book tutorial and I get the same results.  The guest book only works if logged in as admin or host.  If you are logged on as a registered user, the code for the form submission never gets hit.  I am completely confused on this.
