I know breadcrumbs are normally used to show what page you're currently on, but I'd like to remove the breadcrumbs and display the current page by changing the color of the pagelink in the main menu.  I can change the color when I hover over a menuitem with the SelectedRootTab in a .css file.  Is there a comparable mechanism for changing color of the menu item that corresponds to the current page?

Thanks.

Mark

Thanks Timo, it is a great website, and it solved half my problem.

I can use the submenuitembreadcrumbcssclass to highlight the submenu current selection, but the rootmenuitembreadcrumbcssclass doesn't work for the root menu.

I added this to the skin.ascx file

<td><dnn:SOLPARTMENU runat="server" id="dnnSOLPARTMENU"

submenuitembreadcrumbcssclass="BreadcrumbSubTab"

rootmenuitembreadcrumbcssclass="BreadcrumbSubTab"

...

And then I added this to the skin.css file

.BreadcrumbSubTab {

background-color: #0000ff;

color: #ffffff;

font-family: Trebuchet MS, Tahoma, Verdana;

font-size: 9pt;

font-weight: bold;

border-top: 0px solid;

}

The subtab works great, but the root tab doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Hi Mark

To be honest I never use the default menu that comes with DNN
(I prefer pure CSS menu's like housemenu and CssNav by Snapsis)
For my taste the default menu uses to much javascript.

On this site the used classes are:
.rootmenuitemselected TD, .rootmenuitembreadcrumb TD

The class is set for the TR...

But maybe you can post an online example, so I can have a look at it...?

Timo

Unfortunately, I won't have a site up for a few weeks.  It's weird to me that I can make submenuitembreadcrumb work just fine for the sub-menu, but I can't make rootmenuitembreadcrumb work for the main menu.  Is there anything I need to do besides what I did in the code two messages above this one, cause that's all I did.

Thanks again Timo.

Mark
