Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.
In order to participate you must be a registered DNNizen

We have a situation where one portal will have only two groups of users:

Audience
Participants

DotNetNuke Roles works great to decide who can do what within each Role, but - at Registration - we are looking to ask only the minimum of info of the Audience, and more detailed info from the Participants. We want to make the Register process as easy/simple for the Audience as possible, with the fewest possible Register fields displayed.

We would like two have different Register processes on one portal - simple for the Audience and more detailed Register for the Participants. Is this possible? Any suggestions - much appreciated.

I don't believe the standard installation will allow you to do this - you may have to look for a third party option.

I understand the concept, but can't think of any standard DNN functionality that will let you do this.

I did inquire w/ Data Springs, Inc. about Dynamic Registration, describing the need (above), and here's what they said (from whom this reply came specifically I do not know):

Data Springs, Inc wrote
Dynamic Registration can have multiple registration processes on one portal. The user could click one link and be displayed one set of questions for registration (i.e. teacher) and the other page could have another set of questions (i.e. student).

So it looks like Dynamic Registration might do. Thanks for the two replies above; they helped. :)

With DynamicRegistration each custom registration page still needs you to map the core fields.  They said this might change in the future.
