I've got a forum module on a page and I've noticed that when users who are not administrators viw the page they get a Critical Error: "A critical error has occured.  Incorrect syntax near 'Pos'."
If I view the page as an administrator, the page loads just fine and I can add threads, edit the forum settings, etc, etc. without problem.
Any suggestions??

I don't know where you are getting this Pos part from. I am guessing you dont' have both connection strings set in the web.config, but I am not sure.

I've got two connection strings but the one for "SQL Server 2000/2005" is commented out.  The active one (for "SQL Server 2005 Express") is set as it always has been.  The rest of the portal is able to function as expected so I'm not sure if the connection string would have anything to do with it (would it??).  And, why would it be different for the admin user versus for other users?

Okay.  New information that may help...

This particular error happens when I try to access the Forum Home page.  If I click on a link to a particular forum, they forum displays just fine.  The threads within the forum seem to work as well.  All other functionality 'seems' to be working.

If I use the breadcrumb menu to try to access one of the Forum Groups then I get a nearly blank page with only the familiar red background exclamation critical error symbol in the top left corner with the message "An error has occurred." on both error lines beside the symbol.  There is a thin HR across the page immediately below this information (The full page source info is below).

More New Info...

It's the What's New feature that seems to be causing it!

For some reason (and I have not been able to ascertain exactly why but), even though I have had the What's New scroll enabled for some time, it seems to have stopped working.  The other day I spent some time playing with the forum templates (DotNetNuke, DNNsilver, etc).  If I disable the What's New scroll (It never seemed to work right for me anyway) then the forum works without problem for all users.  I've tried to again play with the forum templates but to no avail.  The common denominator seems to be the What's New scroll.
