I recently upgraded from 3.3.4 to 3.3.6 in a shared hosting environment. This isn't my first upgrade so I don't think I messed up anything, i.e. I did the correct changes to the web.config, validation keys and the like. After navigating to the portal, the upgrade started and immediately failed on the first entry (updating to 3.03.05 or something like that), followed by the usual Server Application Error message.

Expecting the worst I reloaded the page and much to my surprise, the site came up. There were a few errors on some of the modules on the first page (Survey, What's New and a couple others), but the site loaded and I was able to log in. Going into Host Settings I see that the current DNN version is displayed as 3.3.6. I also see the new 3.3.6 features mentioned in the documentation (e.g. "Install New Features" or the Marketplace and Upgrade links under Modules) However, the little Upgrade icon is also displayed, indicating that there is a newer version available.

My question: How can I doublecheck that the upgrade was indeed successful and how can I force DNN to upgrade again if it wasn't? I seem to recall a feature to synchronize the database and DNN in previous DNN versions but cannot seem to find it in the current version...

So I'm sc***ed?

The error log for 3.3.5 shows some duplicate entries such as:

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: In der Datenbank ist bereits ein Objekt mit dem Namen 'GetPermissionsByModuleDefID' vorhanden.
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()
at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteADOScript(String SQL)
at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteScript(String Script, Boolean UseTransactions)

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Spaltennamen müssen in jeder Tabelle eindeutig sein. Der Spaltenname 'LastUpdated' wurde in der Folders-Tabelle mehrmals angegeben.

There are more but I only listed the first few here. I now suspect that this was because I used the Install package instead of the Upgrade package to do the upgrade from 3.3.4 to 3.3.6?

My question still stands: How can I doublecheck that the upgrade was indeed successful and how can I force DNN to upgrade again if it wasn't? I seem to recall a feature to synchronize the database and DNN in previous DNN versions but cannot seem to find it in the current version...
