I just switched over to FCK and have set roles only Admin and content editors have the first three toolbars and all users have basic.

I noticed when a user links, in basic, and chooses a page on your site, all the admin only pages show up in the drop down. A little scary.

I have been reading the posts and still unclear how I can create the basic toolbar with or without linking. And if I allowed linking, to not show select page or select file. Only a write-in link would be allowed.

If js files have to be modified, will these be overwritten on the next upgrade?

Any doc locations or pointers would be appreciated.

TIA
Buck

We are working on incorporating these options for the next release.

For now you can globally set these options for all portals in the /Custom/fckconfig.js file. There are lines similar to

FCKConfig.LinkDlgHideTarget = false;
FCKConfig.LinkBrowser = true ;

You can change these to whatever you wish. Remember this will affect every portal instance.

Only pages that you have access to are shown. Maybe you are seeing those pages because you are an admin.

The providers uses the core URL control, so the behavior must be the same in all modules using the same control.

I have checked. Granted, if I give all users access to a form with the basic editor on it, the Admin tab pages do not show as a choice. But, all the pages that I have configured to only show to a specific security role (example: Content Editors or sales staff) are offered as choices. Now they can choose these pages, and when they click the link, they will be faced with login. Ideally, you don't want the unauthenticated user to know these pages exit. Isn't it possible to render the list based on the security role of the active user's security rights?

To test, create a page and give access to a specific security role. Create a form and give edit access to all users. Select page on site as your link choice and see if your secured page shows up in the list. Or just click here.

Please share your thoughts,
Buck

For now all I can see to to is either modify the core url control, or modify the fcklinkgallery in the provider and create a different url control.
