Right - I've finally accepted the hard fact that I can't use hashed passwords with DNN - I can't understand why more people aren't chasing this as for its added security - and its not a difficult change.

Anyway I've changed the settings in my web.config to encrypted but of course all the people who have already signed up have hashed passwords and therefore most of the password related functions do not work for them - they get an error if they try and retrieve their password (yes I understand why - but hey they could be sent a random new password instead), they get an error when they try and change their password when they are logged in. Its all very confusing for the poor users.

So my questions is, is there anyway I change reset all my current user passwords such that they are then stored encrypted rather than hashed? Using the admin fucntion 'reset password' store the password in whatever format it was originally so thats no help.

I am fast coming to the conclusion that I must re-enter all 250 members to be able to set them up with the correct password type.

Any easier suggestions?

Thanks,
