Everytime we try and access default.aspx from the DNN 4.3.7 install we get a 404 error.  This also seems the case for any aspx page.

We have a Win2k3 Std Sp1 server (fully patched, less IE7) with IIS and SQL Server 2005 Express (along with SQL Serve Management Studio Express).  ASP2 is installed.  Through IIS Manager we have the website for this DNN install confied for ASP2, default.aspx pages with highest default content priority, Script and Executables are set up for execute permissions, and ASP.NET web services are enabled.

Every reference to this error that has reference to SharePoint and what with WSS installed the virtual directory that I'm trying to access needs to be excluded.  I don't have sharepoint installed (or at least I don't think I do) so I don't believe that this applies.  However, in the website properties I do see that MSSharePointAppPool is listed in the available options for Application Pool which makes me think that there might somehow be remnants of it that I'm not aware of.

Has anyone run into this before?

Thanks.

Please note that you cannot run .NET 1 & 2 apps in the same app pool.
Did you create a separate app pool for DNN?
