Has anyone successfully implemented publically viewed profiles with DNN 4.3.6?  If so, what module or method did you use to do so?  My company would like to utilize this in our current site, but I have to look at free options before buying a module and I'm a total novice at editing source code (plus we installed the base version of DNN because we didn't think we'd need to customize it).

A company that wants you to spend a few hours (at least)  investigating free options when there are fairly cheap (< $50) other options is not very smart, unless of course they pay you < $5 /hr.  Buying modules can be a cheap way to try something out to help you determine how you want your site to work, even if you never use them on your site.

We all need to remember our time cost not only in what we are paid but in time away from other things.

I hesitate to use MySpace as an example, but my company wants to implement a way you can view profiles for each user on the site, just as a fun little add in to increase user interaction with the site.  At the least, I thought of setting up something similar to the Members page of the SoCal DNN Users Group (http://socaldug.org/Members/tabid/98/Default.aspx), but I don't know what module they used or how they made their module.  We've begun using a trial version of Smart-Thinker, which is pretty nice, but isn't the exact way we'd want things laid out.  And the company's philosophy isn't necessarily don't spend money, but more "if we spend money, we want things exactly the way we'd like them", so if I can't find a usable free version, I need to find a version that fits our needs perfectly to justify the costs.

I noticed that there are options to make profile information viewable for the public and I just wanted to know how to implement that.  I've set "Default Profile Visibility Mode" to All Users, but I don't know how to access profiles from a non-Administrator user's POV.
