How do I create a hyperlink from within a FormView that navigates to another dnn page without hardcoding the domainname/install folder into the URL?

I tried to create a link to a page using the code below, but it does not work.  the CreateURL function returns the correct string (for ex. localhost/dotnetnuke/Default.aspx?tabid=60), but when I click on the hyperlink in the FormView, it prepends the module directory before the string (for ex. dotnetnuke/DesktopModules/ModuleName/localhost/dotnentnuke/Default.aspx?tabid=60 ) .

<asp:Hyperlink ID="Hyperlink2" runat="server" Text="Class Description"

     NavigateUrl='<%# CreateURL(Eval("ClassDescription")) %>' />

...

Protected Function CreateURL(ByVal File As String) As String

   Return DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.GetDomainName(HttpContext.Current.Request) + File

End Function

see:

NavigateURL: How to make a link (VB &C#)

There are other methods (for example, you can dynamically load the .ascx control), but this method describes a way to do it that will allow a portal administrator of your module to set security access in a granular fashion.

Here's how I do it:

Lets say you created a page and names it "My Page" (in the page settings), so:

using DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs;

string GetPageUrl(string tabName)

{

int PortalId = 0; // default

TabController objTabs = new TabController();

TabInfo tabInfo = objTabs.GetTabByName(tabName, PortalId);

return DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.NafigateUrl(tabInfo.TabID);

}

Good luck!

Michael/Ofer

thank you.  I followed both of your advice, one link for each, and they work great.  Thanks for the help.
